The United States of America, also known as the USA or United States, is a federal republic consisting of 50 states and a population of approximately 325 million. The USA is the third largest country in the world in terms of area, behind Russia and Canada, and in terms of population, after China and India.

American English is spoken in the United States, but Spanish is also spoken in parts of the West and East. The official national currency is the US dollar.

The country's largest metropolises include New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Philadelphia, Miami, Atlanta, Boston, San Francisco, Phoenix, San Antonio, San Diego, Seattle, Indianapolis, San Jose, Austin, Jacksonville, Columbus, Forth-Worth, Washington DC, Denver and Charlotte.

Due to increased immigration from numerous countries, the United States of America is one of the most multicultural countries in the world. Most migrants come from South America, Mexico, China or India.

The USA shares a border with Canada to the north and Mexico to the south, bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west, the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Gulf of Mexico to the southeast. The north-south extent of the country is around 2,500 kilometers, while the distance from west to east, between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, is around 4,500 kilometers long.

The largest metropolitan areas are around the cities of New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Washington DC and Philadelphia. In terms of area, in addition to Alaska, the states of California, Texas, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Wyoming, Minnesota, Michigan, Kansas, Idaho, Colorado and Arizona have the largest areas.

The United States of America is the strongest economy in the world, the world's largest sales market for imported goods and the second largest export nation in the world after China.

The most important tourist attractions in the country include the Manhattan skyline, the Las Vegas Strip, Monument Valley, Mount Rushmore, Niagara Falls, the Rocky Mountains, Hollywood, Graceland, the Gateway Arch National Park in Saint Louis, the Golden Gate Bridge, Santa Monica Pier, the famous Alcatraz prison, Miami Beach, Key West, Central Park in New York, Millennium Park in Chicago, Broadway, the “Walk of Fame” in Los Angeles, Disney World, the Grand Canyon , the Capitol and White House in Washington, Dead Valley, Hoover Dam, the city of Sedona, Bryce Canyon, Yosemite National Park, Kennedy Space Center, Arlington Cemetery, Yellowstone National Park, the Statue of Liberty , the French Quarter in New Orleans and Everglades National Park.

I have traveled to the USA very frequently in recent years and I had originally planned to eventually move my center of life there because for me the United States really has something like freedom. But in the end everything turned out differently.

I made my first trip there in 1995, to Houston, Texas. Because it was too cold for me there in December, I drove in a rental car via New Orleans and Alabama to Tampa in Florida, where the temperatures were pleasant. During a stopover in New Orleans, I had an exciting time because the “Sugar Bowl” - the final of American football for students - was taking place in the city at that time. For me, New Orleans is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

The second time I was in Florida in the spring of 1997 and covered pretty much every corner between Key West and Daytona Beach. Since the internet wasn't as present at that time, I missed the originally planned "Spring Break" festival in Daytona Beach by exactly a week.

The one week around Miami Beach was of course very exciting and packed with daily experiences. With an open Ford Mustang, I visited, among other things, the city of Key West, the beaches in Clearwater and St. Petersburg, the Kennedy Space Center and the Everglades National Park.

After a short break, a trip to Las Vegas and Los Angeles followed in 2003, with detours to the Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam. I was in the country at exactly that time when the space shuttle Columbia broke apart on its return from space on February 1st, a really very depressing moment.

I then visited the USA several times in 2003 and 2004, to the cities of Cincinnati, Chicago, Indianapolis, Detroit, Buffalo and Washington DC as well as to Niagara Falls or on a four-week tour of all the national parks in the western USA.

After an abstinence of almost ten years, a stay in Dallas followed in 2014 and a year later in New York City, Los Angeles and Miami.

The United States is a fantastic travel destination and has endless attractions to offer. Whether in the big cities or in the endless expanse, with the numerous impressive national parks, every trip is guaranteed to be an exciting experience and will be remembered forever.

Almost everyone who has ever been to the USA always wants to return to the land of unlimited opportunities.
